Every Sunday morning the "el Rastro" open air market takes place where one can buy anything imaginable.

The excellent shopping district of "Preciados", together with the Puerta del Sol, is full of large department stores, clothes, shoe shops, perfumeries, book and music shops and jewellers.

If looking for something more 'chic' the Barrio de Salamanca is where you'll find the designer stores on the streets of Goya, Serrano, Claudio Coello, Velázquez or Almirante.

And for the most radical and alternative shopper, the Fuencarral street and market is the place to visit.
