Activities

All activities are optional and take place after classes in the afternoon or evening. The students always go accompanied by a representative or a teacher from the school. This improves the relationship between teachers and pupils who become friends and thus creates a better atmosphere in the classroom and enables a greater understanding of the life of the country, its residents and culture. For these activities, the student pays for himself as they would drinks, entrances to the cinema, museums, etc.

At the weekend the school organises day excursions to Toledo, Segovia, Salamanca, Ávila, Aranjuez, etc. These excursions are offered at reasonable rates of about 35 Euros.

Additionally, trips further afield are organised for two or three days, depending on price, for example Barcelona, Sevilla, Córdoba, Lisboa, Marruecos, etc. Together, the excursions and activities organised and our reception team are instrumental in suggesting ways to increase your knowledge of Madrid and its surrounding area.

Some activities

In addition to learning Spanish there are many things to see and do in Madrid and its surrounding area. You will probably want to see many Spanish traditions and have a greater understanding of Spanish life and culture. For this, the Academia Madrid PLUS organises an abundance of optional activities, some examples of which are:

Food and drink, Royal Palace, Shopping, Museo del Prado, Museo Reina Sofía, Museo Thyssen, Museo Arqueológico, Museo Municipal de Madrid, Parque del Retiro, Guided walks through historical Madrid, Guided walks through the Gran Vía, Bullfighting, Concerts, Salsa classes, Video, Cinema, Theatre, Zarzuela, Get togethers, Exhibitions, Debates, Chats, Coffee on the terrace or at a traditional taverna, Games in the school, Learn Spanish songs, Discotheques (not to be confused with Spanish 'clubs' which serve a totally different clientele!), Intercambios, Carnaval, Semana Santa Processions, Flamenco shows, Drinks and night walks, Swimming in summer, Parties, Local Parks, Zoo, Teleférico and Casa de Campo, Planetarium, IMAX cinema, CV writing class and jobsearch for work in Madrid, Photography competition, Visits to the Monasteries of the Descalzas or the Encarnación, Excursion to Toledo, Excursion to Salamanca and Excursion to Avila.
